Terms of use
Berilo is a reading tool, not a source of books.
You may use Berilo to translate and read files you lawfully possess and have the right to process. By using the web service, you agree to these short rules.
Effective 25 July 2026
Your account and fair use
Private web features require an account. Keep its information accurate and access secure. Do not use the service to enter another account, overload systems, automate abuse, or publish unlawful, deceptive, or harmful content.
Books, translations, and copyright
You are responsible for having the right to import, translate, and use the selected file. Berilo offers no book catalog, does not remove DRM, does not host books, and does not permit sharing an original or complete translation. Copyright and other rights remain with their holders; using Berilo grants you no new rights in a work.
Content you publish
You publish shelves, ratings, and short passages only through a separate action. You must retain the right to publish them. Do not publish another person’s private data, abusive material, or excerpts beyond the permitted scope. You can switch sharing off at any time. Berilo may remove content where law, security, or protection of rights requires it.
External models and costs
The translator uses the provider you choose, such as OpenAI or Anthropic, with your own API key. Their separate terms, prices, and limits apply. Berilo provides an estimate before translation, but the provider determines the final charge. Always run the dry-run estimate first and set a spending limit with the provider.
Availability and responsibility
The service is provided in its current state and may pause for maintenance, security, or provider changes. We work to preserve data, but web sync is not your only backup. Export important notes regularly. To the extent allowed by law, Berilo is not responsible for decisions based on a translation, third-party provider charges, or loss outside our reasonable control.
Ending use
You can permanently delete the account from settings at any time. We may restrict access for serious abuse, security risk, or breach of these terms. Provisions concerning rights, public content, and limitations of responsibility continue where they logically need to after termination.
